November 29th is Sports Day in Canada and Burlington is hosting its version of this annual event in the form of a Sports Festival.
Everyone is invited to join in for this FREE event being hosted by the Burlington Youth Soccer Club in the Soccer Domes in Sherwood Forest Park.
The event will run from 10 am to 3 pm with try-it sessions being offered by Burlington Sport Alliance members including lacrosse, football, wheelchair basketball, soccer, gymnastics, field hockey and lawn bowling. The event will also feature a YMCA toddler-preschool activation area as well as the RBC activation obstacle course where you will also be able to meet and get autographs from RBC sponsored Olympians.
The City of Burlington has also sponsored
- a recreational swim at Centennial Pool (with the Burlington Synchronized Swimming Club on hand to give demos and tips!) from 3:00-4:30 pm and
- a skate at Mainway Arena from 2:00-3:30 pm
The event is being coordinated by Have a Heart for Burlington which is a collaborative of organizations and grass roots groups all interested in ensuring that all children and youth in Burlington have easy access to physical activity and recreation.
